I’m excited to participate in the challenge. I am nervous about actually being able to keep up and write something for 26 days although a couple of years ago I did a blogging challenge where we wrote every day in February which was 28 days but I sortve blew that (not completely, but somewhat) so I am hoping the one day off per week will help me to have things better under control this go-round. As it is, I have known I was going to be doing this for several weeks now and then here it is, the wee hours of the morning, the day the challenge starts and I am JUST NOW typing this post.
For anyone who cares to know, I have generalized anxiety and social anxiety so I’m tons of fun at parties (as long as I am partying at home. With my cats). And it’s something I’ve dealt with as long as I can remember although I am fairly good at hiding it and for many years I worked at a regular 9-to-5 job and did social things and drifted through the day with a smile pasted on my face trying to fit in.
So, for me, the internet is wonderful because I can have friends all over the world and never have to leave home. (I have had the excellent good fortune of meeting several “internet” friends face-to-face, though!)
I honestly think that the best part of the challenge for me, though, will be going out and visiting some new blogs. Although it looks like I’ve only been blogging a short time, I started back in 2004 on LiveJournal. This blog was on Blogspot for quite some time and then I moved it to it’s own site and then lost my hosting (and with it, all of my files and blog posts) so this is the reincarnation of a site that has actually been around for a while. I’ve gotten apathetic (yay! another “A” word) about going out into the blogosphere and making new bloggy friends and it’s time!
Let the games begin! (And go visit some of the other wonderful blogs in the challenge – list found here!)
